Dentures have been used as an affordable and efficient solution for replacing multiple missing teeth for centuries, and today, thanks to advances in dental technology, they are even more comfortable and effective. As a set of prosthetic teeth worn as an oral appliance, dentures restore the function and beauty of your smile, and come in two different forms:
- Partial Dentures — Partial dentures are recommended when a patient still has healthy remaining teeth and are used to fill the gaps in their smile where there are multiple missing teeth. This option is typically anchored into place by the remaining teeth.
- Complete Dentures — Complete dentures are recommended when a patient is missing all of their original teeth and is used to replace a full dental arch on the top or bottom of their mouth. This option is typically held in place with a dental adhesive.
When you come in to receive a denture, Dr. Tandon will help you decide which option is best for your smile. Whichever option you choose, our team will custom design your denture to fit comfortably and securely in your mouth. We will do this by creating a mold of your mouth that we will use to design your appliance. We will then send the appliance to a dental lab. Once your denture is completed, we will adjust the denture to fit your smile, both in function and appearance, so it matches the contours of your face and smile.
